Chris and Carla met on set in 2011. They were married in 2016 and opened Habitat Studio as a center for their creative endeavors. With input from photographers, stylists and producers, they designed Habitat Studio as a streamlined, home-like environment servicing the food photo industry.
CHRISTOPHER TESTANI -- photographer
Born and raised in upstate New York, Chris studied Cinema and Photography at Ithaca College. In 2012 he was selected as one of PDN magazine's Top Photographers to Watch, and has gone on to work regularly for a wide range of top editorial and commercial clients around the world. As an avid cook, outdoor enthusiast and traveler, his work draws inspiration from the things he loves--good food, people, travel, and the stories that bring them all together. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, but can regularly be found traveling wherever the job takes him, or daydreaming about that perfect little cabin in the woods.
CARLA GONZALEZ-HART -- prop stylist
Carla Gonzalez-Hart grew up in Washington, DC's vibrant metropolitan area. She studied Art History at Towson University where she learned the subtleties of visual language. In 2006, her career as a home and fashion writer brought her to New York. There she trained in tabletop styling at the legendary Gourmet magazine before moving on to report home trends as Style and Market Editor at Martha Stewart Living and Country Living. In 2014 she launched her freelance career as a prop stylist working for both editorial and commercial clients. She brings her informed, editor's eye to each project. She looks forward to #TeenyDishFriday every week, and ribbon tumble season each year. She lives in Brooklyn.
